Safety and Security Home
The Cameron County School District is committed to creating and sustaining a comprehensive, coordinated approach to improve the overall safety and well-being of our students and staff. To do this, we believe that we must continue to enhance and implement community-wide programs and initiatives that partner parents, staff, local law enforcement, mental health and wellness professionals, and elected officials.
Cameron County School District is responsible for its’ students during the instructional hours of the school day and on School District property.
The district has utilized school security personnel to monitor security cameras, manage secured building access, conduct patrols in the hallways, on grounds, and in the parking areas, in maintaining a safe, proactive learning environment in both the elementary and high school. Key measures include adherence to mandatory safety drills, (fire and lockdown) and utilizing the Safe2Say program.
A positive rapport between the staff and students is an ongoing process of creating a welcoming, respectful environment where students feel safe to learn and enjoy their time here at the Cameron County School District.
